Our Work
Residential
Oslo, Norway — 2024
A complete architectural design for a family of four on a sloped plot overlooking the Oslofjord. The brief called for openness without exposure — generous light, carefully framed views, and materials that age well.
"Forma transformed our property into something we could have never imagined on our own. Every detail was considered, every material perfectly chosen."

Private Client, Oslo
Cultural
Bergen, Norway — 2023
A public cultural venue designed to anchor a newly developed waterfront district. The building folds between civic presence and human scale, with a continuous timber interior that references Bergen's maritime heritage.
"The studio understood the cultural and historical weight of this project from day one. What they delivered exceeded every expectation we had set."

Director, Bergen Cultural Fund
Residential
Geilo, Norway — 2023
A winter retreat designed to disappear into its landscape. Clad in charred pine and stone sourced within 40km of the site, the cabin sits low against the terrain, its interior organised around a single fireplace axis.
"We wanted something raw and honest. Forma gave us exactly that — a cabin that feels like it has always been part of that mountain."

Private Client, Geilo
Renovation
Oslo, Norway — 2022
A complete interior redesign of a top-floor apartment in central Oslo. Existing walls were removed to create a single flowing space. Custom millwork, Italian stone and handmade lighting were specified throughout.
"Living here now feels like living inside something considered. Every corner, every surface — nothing was left to chance. I'm still discovering details."

Residential
Stavanger, Norway — 2022
A three-storey family home built directly onto a granite outcrop at the water's edge. The structure steps down with the rock, each level opening to a private terrace facing the North Sea.
"The relationship between the house and the water is extraordinary. You feel connected to the landscape in a way that no other home we've seen manages to achieve."

Private Client, Stavanger
Cultural
Tromsø, Norway — 2022
A contemporary gallery space designed around the constraints of northern light. Roof lanterns calibrated to the latitude bring even, diffused daylight onto the works. The envelope is minimal — the art takes precedence.
"Forma understood something most architects don't: in a gallery, the building exists to serve the work. They designed accordingly, and the result is exceptional."
Karin Dahl
Curator, Tromsø Gallery
Residential
Telemark, Norway — 2021
A rural estate designed as a compound of three connected volumes — main house, guest pavilion and working studio — set within 14 hectares of mixed forest. All structures are timber-framed using trees harvested on site.
"The ambition of this project was significant. Forma handled every phase with calm authority. The estate is everything we imagined and more."

Renovation
Oslo, Norway — 2021
A 120m² apartment in Frogner rebuilt from the structural shell. The challenge: preserve original 1920s proportions while creating a home suited to contemporary living. The result honours both demands without compromise.
"I was nervous about losing the character of the original apartment. Forma not only preserved it — they made it feel more itself than it ever did before."

Residential
Sørlandet, Norway — 2021
A summer residence on the southern coast, designed around the rhythm of family life in warm months. The plan is loose and open — inside and outside merge through full-height folding glass across the entire south elevation.
"This house has changed the way our family spends summer. It draws you outside constantly. The light, the air, the connection to the sea — Forma captured all of it."

Private Client, Sørlandet
Commercial
Oslo, Norway — 2020
A 2,400m² headquarters for a Norwegian investment firm. The brief required spaces that communicated authority without formality — meeting rooms that feel generous, open floors that encourage movement, and a reception that makes an impression.
"The office has become a genuine asset for us — clients comment on it, staff don't want to leave. Forma understood exactly what we were trying to build as a company."
